Maverick House Sells Czech Right To The Commandant

Maverick House, the Irish based non-fiction publisher with operations in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and across Southeast Asia, has sold Czech rights to The Commandant: Rudolf Höss, the Commandant of Auschwitz, by Ian Baxter.

The acquiring publisher was Vydavatelstvi Vikend.

The book is the definitive biography of Rudolf Höss, the Commandant of Auschwitz, the concentration camp where between 1,100,000 and 1,500,000 men, women and children were murdered by the Nazis.

Waterstone's & Cork University Press Team Up On Local Books

UCC Press Books In Waterstones CorkFollowing Simon Fox, CEO of HMV’s, call for Waterstone’s stores to become more locally focused, Cork University Press has created a local title promotion for Waterstone’s Cork store.

The promotion features 15 titles and the Press has been assigned an island in the irish interest section and a face out shelf at the front of the shop and involves discounts for Cork University Press titles.

The experiment will run through the next two months and will be reassessed at the end of the summer.

The promotion was announced on the blog Cork University Press’ publisher, Mike Collins.
