Irish Top Ten Week Ending 23/10/2010

Fascinating week for the Irish Top Ten this week. Pearson, through Penguin Ireland and Michael Joseph had an exceptional week filling the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 7th slots in the top ten and selling some 6,400 units from those titles alone, in one week.

Some big titles are making an appearance over the next few weeks, not least of which is Ryan Tubridy’s first book on the JFK visit to Ireland, it will be interesting to see if these have an impact on the charts and whether the Pearson titles can hold their own.

Also of note is the arrival in the top ten of Booker winning, The Finkler Question by Howard Jacobson which Bloomsbury published. That makes two of the shortlisted titles in the top ten (including the winner) no mean achievement.

2: Room, Emma Donoghue, 1,549
3: Wasters, Shane Ross & Nick Webb, 1,525
