Bord Gais Energy Offers €5,000 Prize Fund For Bookshop Of The Year Award
The Bord Gáis Energy Bookshop of the Year Award is back for 2012 and offers a €5,000 prize fund. The award, which was introduced as a new category in the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards in 2011, pays tribute to Irish booksellers nationwide and was set up to recognise bookshops that consistently deliver a great customer experience.
This year, the winner of this prestigious award will win a prize package including €4,000 worth of electricity credit with Bord Gáis Energy, a trophy and a commemorative plaque. All Booksellers’ Association-affiliated shops will be entered automatically and all other bookshops can enter via a short entry form online before 6pm, Friday, 31st of August, 2012.
Entries are now being accepted via an online entry form at irishbookawards.ie, before the 31st of August. An online public vote will take place from the 10th September – 14th October.
One finalist will be selected from each of the following five constituencies, Munster, Connaught, Leinster, Ulster and Greater Dublin and these shops will be announced at the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards shortlist announcement event in Dublin on 25th October. Each of the shortlisted bookshops will receive two free places for their staff at a bespoke Digital Marketing Insights training session for the Book Industry; hosted by some of Ireland’s most renowned digital marketing leaders.
