Gill & Macmillan Launch New Range of Mini eCookbooks
The monthly ebooks will be priced at €1.99. Readers will be able to download the ecookbooks in seasonal chunks, that each month for the next year.
The first of the series went live on Monday 1 October and features 8 new recipes a month, beginning with seasonal fare like Oaty Blackberry and Apple Crumble and Chicken, Leek and Butter Bean Soup.
Gill & Macmillan publisher, Nicki Howard, says the new effort is in response to the changing way readers are consuming books,‘We are committed to delivering content to readers in whatever format they [readers] choose. Whether you want to buy the cookbook, the eBook or just a chunk of it – say October’s recipes – you can do that now too. It will be interesting to see if people do more than one: buy the cookbook and the monthly recipes for using on their ipad in the kitchen.’
Morris, who is Ballymaloe-trained but not a full-time cook, spends her days working at the Kooky Dough, a company that produces high quality, ready-made cookie dough that is sold all over Ireland and is now expanding into the UAE, UK and France.
She says, ‘’I’m immersed in the tech generation and see how much people’s lives are dependent on mobile technology. I’m thrilled that people will be able to cook my recipes season-by-season straight from their ipad!’
