A Quick IPN Premium FAQ

1) What is it?
IPN Premium is a new section of Irish Publishing News that offers paid for services, the IPN Premium Bulletin and the IPN Premium Annual Report On Irish Publishing.

2) How much does it cost?
Well that depends, the Bulletin is €10 per month or €100 for a full year and the Annual Report ranges from €49 to €59.

3) Will it impact on the rest of the site?
No, everything that is free now, will remain free forever and several new free services will be added too.

4) So what does it offer?
Well you can read more here and here.

5) Why are you charging for these services?
Irish Publishing News aims to be a valuable free resource for the book industry in Ireland and that will never change, but some services are simply too expensive to offer free of charge and are also not desired by most readers. In order to cater to the demand for those more expensive services and to provide them properly, charging for them makes the most sense.

Announcing IPN Premium

Introducing IPN Premium
Irish Publishing News is launching two products under our new IPN Premium brand.

The first of these new products is The IPN Premium Bulletin. The Bulletin will provide a comprehensive round-up of the most important IPN stories from the previous month as well as other essential content. You can read more about the bulletin and sign up for it here.

The second is The IPN Premium Annual Report On Irish Publishing. The report will feature 20 pages of analysis and commentary on the Irish book publishing industry and associated trades. The report will be published annually from 2010. You can read more about the Annual Report and sign up for it here.

While these products are payment based, the basic IPN services including the daily news and features, and the monthly title listings will all remain FREE.

The site will ALWAYS have the same level of free content as it has had to date and no one who likes the current offering will have to pay a cent for it and nor will they ever have it.

But, for those seeking greater detail, more in-depth analysis and good quality market intelligence, then IPN Premium offers you that.

Testing The Guardian News Feed Plugin

Don’t be alarmed if over the next week or so, articles from The Guardian begin to appear on site.

Irish Publishing News is testing The Guardian News Feed plugin for WordPress, which enabled the site to pull in items from The Guardian’s extensive content library.

In fact, the first fruits of this test are now live.

Last week, Irish Publishing News welcomed its first new contributer, Robert Maguire. Today we welcome a second. Daniel Bolger, has posted his first article.

Dan Bolger is an American book editor at an independent publishing company in Dublin and an occasional book reviewer for The Irish Times.

Today is an exciting day for Irish Publishing News. Our first regular contributor has posted his first article.
Robert Maguire is a musician and freelance journalist. A self-professed jack of all trades, he has studied film and psychology; worked in bookselling, and been involved in music for several years.
As a writer, he has contributed to several online publications, including Egoeccentric and Connected Magazine.
As a musician he performs with the Irish based alternative-rock band Clockwork Noise.
